Melisa Crandlemire is a fine artist working in oil and pastel from her studio in High River, Alberta. Her paintings trace the quiet drama of prairie weather — overcast foothill skies, winter stillness, windswept trees, and the muted greens of a lived-in landscape.
Working on canvas and cotton paper, she builds each piece through layered gesture and restrained colour. Greys, olive greens, and warm earth tones hold the work together — compositions meant for greige walls, linen, and rooms that favour calm over spectacle.
